Bishop George Robert Kasharu was born on May 21 1953, in gweri sub county present day soroti district. He went to school there for the primary level & high school. His childhood journey was a tough struggle he raired cattle so he could go to school, he had to move 10 miles to graze animals then another 10 to Join the class , a little latter.
“Sometimes you go through situations not because God doesn’t like you, but for God to be given Glory, if you discover the purpose of God for your Life,” . God always has a plan for each and everyone and he says his plan is to do us good,” Pr.George.
After losing his parents at a young age , Pastor George lived on wild fruits in the bushes, grazing animals for that little pay, so as to go to school and clothing.
The Lord called Bishop George to ministry at age , 15 a young man still growing in the word , 2 years after he recieved Christ as his Lord, he was commissioned 10 years Later, equipped to Go.
At the age of 22 with the help of a friend in the U.SA, he Joined Nairobi pentecostal bible school for a degree in Theology.
Later attaining a masters from International Bible Academy in Cleveland Tenneesse the U.S.A.
He started ministering after in community halls, preaching on the streets where one time in 1973 during Idi Amin Ddada rule , he was beaten up by his ruthless soldiers, then Christians were not fevored and had no freedom to worship!.
He speaks several dilects , because he has been around the areas of Uganda , Rwandese, lunyankole, itesot , lusoga, luganda , kishwahili, English among others, whwich is advantage to communicate the Gospel to differerent tribes.
He got married on 22nd September 1982 to Late wife Winfred kasharu with whom they have now grown up 7 children, two girls and five boys , Stephen, Grace, Betty, Peterson, Nathan, Joshua and Joseph. Blessed with 7 grand children
He Started a ministry with wife Winfred as purposed by the Lord in mafubira valley in 1985, started off hopless, a small mudy and water grass thatched temporally building which they were renting, a five member church then , it was him, (Pr.George) his wife , and three people who joined them, a two peoples’ service some sundays , it was Pastor George and wife.
After the death of beloved wife in Feb 2012, 30 years of marriage , Pastor George sought to find a helper, for the bible says “its not good for a man to be alone, I will make him a helper that suits him,” he married Mable Kasharu in June 2014.
